Enish, a publicly traded Japanese gaming firm listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, has announced plans to purchase 100 million yen (approximately $667,000) worth of Bitcoin (BTC) as part of its evolving web3 and financial strategy.
Founded in 2009, Enish is best known for developing mobile games such as De:Lithe – The King of Oblivion and Angel of the Covenant. The company confirmed that the Bitcoin purchase will be completed by April 4, with assistance from an undisclosed domestic crypto exchange.
Strengthening Its Web3 Strategy
In a disclosure released on April 1 and reported by CoinPost, Enish stated that the move is aimed at enhancing its blockchain and web3 business operations. One of its existing blockchain titles, De:Lithe: Last Memories, is already part of the firm’s broader push into decentralized gaming.
Enish said the BTC acquisition will help the company “deepen its understanding” of blockchain technology while improving its technical capabilities in development.
Bitcoin as Part of Financial Strategy
The company also emphasized that purchasing crypto is now part of its long-term financial strategy. Enish aims to diversify its asset base by tapping into the liquidity and perceived stability of the Bitcoin market, while also acknowledging the potential for future price appreciation.
The firm noted that it will conduct quarterly reviews of its BTC holdings and will report any unrealized gains or losses in its financial statements.
More Japanese Companies Turning to Bitcoin
Enish joins a growing list of Japanese firms that are adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets in 2025. The trend includes fellow gaming studio Gumi, which recently launched a BTC lottery for new shareholders.
Other notable Bitcoin adopters include:
- Metaplanet (a prominent investor)
- Value Creation (real estate and digital transformation)
- SBC Medical Group (a healthcare provider)
- Remixpoint (an auto trading platform)
This wave of adoption reflects a broader shift in corporate Japan, where businesses are increasingly integrating crypto assets into both operational and financial strategies.
